AI Specialist Accounting Automation & Implementation

Role Overview: As an AI Specialist at our dynamic outsourced accounting office in Chennai, India, you will play a crucial role in spearheading the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence solutions within our accounting operations. Your primary responsibilities will include automating manual processes, improving data accuracy, supporting tax and audit prep, and enhancing overall operational efficiency. You will collaborate with leadership and functional teams to identify key areas for AI-driven improvements, design and implement AI solutions, and lead training sessions for staff on the use of new AI tools and workflows. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with leadership and functional teams to identify key areas for AI-driven improvements in accounting, tax, and audit workflows. - Design, develop, and implement AI solutions such as data extraction, document classification, anomaly detection, and automation of repeatable tasks. - Train and fine-tune machine learning models using company data, ensuring compliance with US and Canadian accounting and regulatory frameworks. - Integrate AI tools with existing software platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, etc.). - Lead training sessions and workshops for staff on the use of new AI tools and workflows. - Monitor AI system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements. - Stay abreast of emerging AI technology trends, especially those relevant to accounting and finance. - Document processes, model parameters, and provide regular updates to stakeholders. - Ensure all data handling and AI use adheres to client confidentiality and international data privacy laws. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development and implementation, accounting industry experience highly preferred. - Proficient in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). - Experience with natural language processing, OCR, and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools. - Familiarity with common accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and their APIs is an advantage. - Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages. - Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff. - Proven project management and problem-solving abilities.
