About the Role

AI Prompt Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, refine, and optimise prompts for LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to generate accurate and context-aware outputs.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to understand requirements and build AI-powered workflows.
• Fine-tune and test prompt variations to improve performance, accuracy, and reliability.
• Build reusable prompt libraries and documentation for scaling AI use cases.
• Conduct experiments, analyse model responses, and apply data-driven improvements.
• Integrate prompts into applications, chatbots, automation tools, and internal systems.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in generative AI and apply best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues with model behaviour, hallucinations, or inconsistent outputs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 34 years of experience in AI/ML, NLP, LLM prompt engineering, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of large language models and generative AI technology.
• Proficiency in prompt design patterns (zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought, role-based prompting, etc.).
• Experience with Python and APIs for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with vector databases, RAG pipelines, and AI agent workflows (preferred).
• Ability to analyse outputs, identify patterns, and iterate rapidly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with fine-tuning LLMs or building custom AI models.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and data preprocessing.
• Exposure to frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.
• Understanding of UI/UX for conversational apps or chatbots.
