Role Overview: As an agronomy professional with expertise in regenerative practices for rice, wheat, sugarcane, and maize ecosystems, you will be pivotal in evaluating Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and soil organic carbon sequestration in the Indian subcontinent. Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate a deep understanding of carbon and nitrogen cycling in soils, focusing on how regenerative practices influence soil organic carbon sequestration, nitrogen mineralization, and GHG emissions. - Lead a team in conducting thorough literature research on GHG emissions from different cultivation practices in Indian farming systems. - Evaluate the impacts of regenerative practices on soil microbial activity, nutrient availability, and carbon-nitrogen interactions to devise effective land management strategies. - Develop field experiment protocols, collaborate with national and international agriculture research institutes, and conduct experimental field trials to analyze the effects of regenerative practices on GHG emissions and soil organic carbon pools. - Design comprehensive soil sampling strategies, identify sampling sites, and supervise field teams in soil sampling and GHG measurements to ensure data accuracy and protocol adherence. - Engage in thought leadership activities by participating in scientific forums, conferences, and working groups, sharing insights, publishing peer-reviewed papers, and translating scientific findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences. Qualification Required: - Ph.D. in Agricultural Research, Climate Change, or related fields. - 7-10 years of experience in GHG emissions research. - Proficiency in data analysis software.
