Job description
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for overseeing and optimizing end-to-end RCM operations, ensuring high-quality output, process efficiency, revenue maximization, and superior client satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, deep knowledge of healthcare RCM workflows, and proven experience managing large teams and multiple clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
Oversee complete RCM functions including Patient Access, Coding, Charge Entry, Billing, AR Follow-up, Denials Management, Payment Posting, and Credit Balancing.
Ensure all processes meet organizational SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards.
Drive productivity, accuracy, and efficiency across teams.
2. Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary escalation point for clients and handle all operational concerns.
Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBR/QBR).
Develop strong client relationships and ensure alignment with expectations and performance goals.
3. Team Management:
Lead and mentor managers, team leads, and associates.
Manage workforce planning: staffing, rosters, training, and performance reviews.
Build a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
4. Financial Performance & Revenue Optimization:
Monitor and manage key financial metrics like collections %, AR days, denial rates, clean claim rate, cost-to-collect, etc.
Identify revenue leakage and implement corrective measures.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for operations.
5. Quality, Compliance & Process Improvement:
Ensure adherence to HIPAA, payer regulations, and coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
Lead internal audits and ensure timely corrective action.
Implement Lean/Six Sigma and automation initiatives (RPA/AI) to enhance operational efficiency.
6. Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance dashboards for internal and client stakeholders.
Conduct root-cause analysis for any performance gaps and drive action plans.
Provide insights for decision support and strategic planning.
Skills Required:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/Healthcare Administration preferred.
Experience:
20 + years of total RCM experience, including 5+ years in a leadership
Managerial role:
Experience managing large teams (100+ FTEs) and multi-client environments.
Strong exposure to US healthcare RCM processes, EHR/EMR systems, and payer guidelines
