AGM-Transmission Line Design

Job Summary:

The role will lead the planning, analysis, and execution of transmission line design projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with international standards, and alignment with project timelines and budgets. This role demands deep expertise in structural and foundation design, proficiency in industry-standard software, and the ability to guide the execution team through complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Leadership

• Spearhead the processing of survey data and define criteria for tower spotting in domestic tenders and projects
• Prepare and submit EPC-submitted detail and check surveys; finalize tower locations and typesincluding extensionsusing PLS-CADD
• Conduct tower integrity checks including wind span, weight span, phase sequence, and transposition; utilize Optimum for domestic spotting
• Generate tower schedules and route alignments using Google Earth and PLS-CADD to support accurate BOQ generation
• Create and review design packages including route alignment, LiDAR and drone data classification, vegetation reports, and structure usage profiles
• Prepare Crossings Proposals of Powerline, Railways, Highways, River and Forest for submission to the clients.

Project Optimization & Profitability

• Lead post-bid design optimization by recalibrating tower quantities and alignments to improve project margins before EPC partner finalization
• Develop transmission line profiles and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Global Mapper, Toposheets, and relevant design tools
• Manage crossing proposals, liaising with stakeholders and clients for validation and approval of power line intersections

Operational Oversight & Documentation

• Oversee O&M workstreams and generate As-Built documentation to support long-term infrastructure reliability
• Validate technical design packages for ongoing transmission line maintenance and upgrades
• Prepare crossing proposal documentation and coordinate with external line owners for approval processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor&aposs degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12+ years experience in transmission line design, with proven expertise in leading large-scale design projects
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile) and tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, Optimum, Global Mapper, and relevant transmission line software
• Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards.
