**Job Description – Electrical Head (Sponge Iron Unit)**

**Position:** Electrical Head

**Department:** Electrical & Power Maintenance

**Location:** Sponge Iron Unit (Kiln & associated facilities)

**Reporting To:** Plant Head / Director

**Role Overview:**

The Electrical Head will lead the entire electrical department of the Sponge Iron Plant, ensuring reliable power supply, uninterrupted operation of electrical systems, preventive and corrective maintenance, energy optimization, and compliance with statutory safety norms.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Lead and manage the Electrical team for smooth functioning of all electrical equipment in the Sponge Iron Plant (500 TPD / 200 TPD Kilns).

* Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance of transformers, HT/LT motors, PCCs, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, and plant electrical networks.

* Ensure uninterrupted power supply and electrical reliability for production processes, kilns, compressors, blowers, pumps, and utility systems.

* Monitor and optimize energy consumption, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement energy-efficient practices.

* Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, spare parts planning, and inventory control.

* Coordinate with production, mechanical, and instrumentation teams for maintenance shutdowns and breakdowns.

* Ensure strict adherence to statutory compliance, electrical safety standards, and ISO audits (9001, 14001, 45001).

* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimum downtime.

* Implement upgrades, automation, and modernization of electrical systems to improve plant efficiency.

* Develop and train the electrical team for skill enhancement and succession planning.

**Key Skills & Competencies:**

* Strong knowledge of electrical systems in Sponge Iron Plant operations.

* Expertise in HT/LT distribution, power generation, and electrical maintenance.

* Hands-on experience in kilns, WHRB, DG sets, transformers, and large motors.

* Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and automation systems (preferred).

* Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.

* Familiar with safety, statutory, and energy audit requirements.

**Qualification & Experience:**

* B.E. / B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

* 12–25 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in Sponge Iron / Steel / Power Plant.

* Minimum 5 years in a leadership role handling electrical department independently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
