Advanced Mech Design Engr

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and verify basic/detailed engineering deliverables including Plot Plans, Equipment GAs, Piping Layouts, Pipe Rack Study Sketches, Vessel Nozzle Orientation, Vent and Drain Piping Layouts, and Process and Utility Piping Design Drawings.
  • Ensure all designs incorporate requirements from local and statutory regulations (e.g., Factory Inspector, OISD, IBR, CCoE/PESO, TAC), with good knowledge of hazardous area classification.
  • Provide inputs to structural, static, rotary, electrical, and instrumentation groups.
  • Guide and review 3D software database setup and lead 3D modeling efforts and reviews using tools like SPR or Navisworks.
  • Review piping isometric drawings, including Bills of Material, for consistency with layouts.
  • Perform inspection and testing of piping skids/modules during fabrication/construction.
  • Route stress-critical lines, demonstrating expertise in Piping Stress, Piping Material, and various Specialties.
  • Provide inputs to the procurement process, including preparing requisitions and reviewing vendor deliverables.
  • Meet expectations for delivering sales support and on-site technical services to customers.
  • Review and approve documents created by in-house or third-party engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and actively participate in maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying needs and opportunities for work process and productivity enhancements.
  • Set technical standards, policies, and procedures within the area of expertise.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers regarding progress, changes, and schedules.
  • Stay updated with current technology developments and share knowledge with others.
  • Support and follow corporate HS&E policies related to office and field safety practices.

Skills Requirement:

  • Excellent knowledge of Principles, Practices, and Procedures related to piping engineering, including B31.3 Piping Code.
  • Expertise in Plot Plan, General Arrangement, Skid Engineering, and Piping Layout (within Skid/Module), including pipe supports.
  • Proficiency with 3D modeling software and experience in design and analyzing piping systems.
  • Knowledge and competency in reviewing piping isometric drawings.
  • Understanding of inter-disciplinary linkages and interdependencies.
  • Understanding of Equipment Design and Fabrication techniques, standards, and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Highly motivated, independent, and a strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective international collaboration.
  • Negotiation skills and business acumen are an advantage.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree may be an asset.
