Job Title: Admission Counselor

Department:

Position Summary:

The Admission Counselor is responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and guiding prospective students through the university admission process. This role involves promoting academic programs, supporting enrollment goals, and representing the university at various events both on and off-campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Outreach:

    • Represent the university at college fairs, high schools, community events, and virtual sessions.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, and school counselors.
  • Admissions Support:

    • Guide applicants through the admission process from inquiry to enrollment.
    • Review and evaluate applications for undergraduate/graduate programs.
    • Provide personalized follow-up and support to ensure a smooth application experience.
  • Communication:

    • Respond promptly to inquiries via email, phone, and in person.
    • Maintain regular communication with applicants to keep them engaged and informed.
    • Collaborate with marketing teams to provide content for admissions materials and digital outreach.
  • Data Management:

    • Accurately maintain records of interactions and progress in the CRM system.
    • Track, analyze, and report on recruitment and conversion metrics.
  • Campus Collaboration:

    • Work with academic departments, financial aid, and student services to support enrollment.
    • Assist in planning and executing open houses, orientation, and other admissions events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master degree in any related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in admissions, counseling, recruitment, or related roles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce), and virtual meeting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education or student services.
  • Familiarity with student recruitment strategies and trends.
