Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for utilizing your technical/functional knowledge in accounting and fixed asset closing to ensure proper recording and analysis of capitalization, maintenance, depreciation, and amortization. Your expertise in lease accounting concepts will be crucial in your role. You will prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and roll forwards, as well as perform monthly and quarterly fixed asset closing activities for multiple entities. Analysis of fixed asset accounts and variances across legal entities, obtaining explanations for deviations, and preparing monthly summarized reports within deadlines will be part of your routine. You will also be involved in the preparation and clearance of open reconciling items in account reconciliations. Hands-on experience in submitting trial balance in HFM, identifying standardization opportunities, and acting as a key contact for local teams on fixed assets and lease-related inquiries will be key responsibilities. Furthermore, you will ensure compliance of accounting books and records with accounting policies and regulations, provide necessary support for internal and external audits, and participate in ad-hoc activities and projects. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize technical/functional knowledge in accounting and fixed asset closing - Ensure proper recording and analysis of capitalization, maintenance, depreciation, and amortization - Demonstrate proficiency in lease accounting concepts - Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and roll forwards - Perform monthly and quarterly fixed asset closing activities for multiple entities - Analyze fixed asset accounts and variances across legal entities, providing explanations for deviations and preparing monthly summarized reports - Prepare and clear open reconciling items in account reconciliations - Submit trial balance in HFM - Identify and drive standardization opportunities in processes and tasks - Act as a key contact for local teams on fixed assets and lease-related inquiries - Ensure compliance of accounting books and records with accounting policies and regulations - Provide supporting documents and explanations for internal and external audits - Participate in ad-hoc activities and projects Qualifications Required: - University education in Accounting or Finance - Minimum 3+ years of experience in managing fixed assets and leases register for large-scale organizations - Familiarity with US GAAP preferred - Working knowledge of internal controls - Good working knowledge of SAP - Understanding of accounting processes and ability to follow accounting policies - Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience in fixed asset and lease processes - Fluent verbal and written communication in English - Experience in a multinational firm or within a Global Business Services (GBS) preferred - Hands-on, proactive, and strong organizational skills - Ability to work with deadlines in a dynamic environment - Results-driven and service-oriented to internal and external customers - Excellent collaboration skills with colleagues within the local organization and global business service - Flexibility to work in a changing environment - Strong focus on improvement opportunities - Desire to work in a new (to be) established team - Ensuring appropriate documentation and periodic certification of all processes by team members on a regular basis,
