Job Description

Role Overview: As an Accountant at Ascension, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and various other accounting duties. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting financial transparency through journal entries and closings. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare journal entries - Complete general ledger operations - Conduct monthly closings and prepare monthly financial statements - Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts - Prepare analysis of accounts as requested - Assist with year-end closings - Review, verify, and process invoices for accuracy and completeness - Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts - Ensure proper coding of expenses to the correct accounts and departments - Monitor and resolve bank issues, including fee anomalies and check differences - Conduct account/bank reconciliations - Review and process expense reports - Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; 3+ years of experience may be substituted for the degree - Minimum of one (1) year of accounting-related experience - Strong personal computer skills, including MS Office and accounting software - Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, along with decision-making abilities - Excellent attention to detail and time management skills - Understanding of basic accounting principles and internal controls (Note: No additional details about the company were provided in the job description.)
