Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate books of accounts for the Trust and all school branches in Tally/ERP.

• Record day-to-day transactions including receipts, payments, fees, salaries, and

donations.

• Ensure timely reconciliation of branch accounts with the head office.

• Manage inter-branch transactions and ensure correct allocation of income and

expenses.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income &

Expenditure, Receipt & Payment).

• Prepare consolidated accounts of all branches.

• Assist management in budget preparation, cost analysis, and variance reporting.

3. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including Trust Act, Income Tax

Act (including TDS payments and returns), and FCRA (if applicable).

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for audit of Trust and branch accounts.

• Maintain records for statutory filings (Form 10B, 12A, 80G, etc.).

4. Payroll & Vendor Management

• Handle payroll processing and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS).

• Manage vendor payments, verify bills/invoices, and maintain payment records.

• Ensure timely disbursement of funds to school branches.

5. Fee & Donation Management

• Monitor collection of school fees and other receipts at branch level.

• Maintain proper records for donations, grants, and contributions received.

• Ensure compliance in utilization of earmarked funds for specific purposes.

6. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with school principals and branch accountants for financial reporting and

documentation.

• Support management in decision-making through financial data analysis.

• Provide financial data and reports as required by trustees or regulatory authorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.Com / M.Com / CA (Inter) / MBA (Finance)

• Experience: 37 years of accounting experience, preferably in NGO / Trust /

Educational institutions.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems, MS Excel, and financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of Trust accounting standards, Income Tax, and FCRA

compliance (if applicable).

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.

  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Work Location & Structure:

• Based at Trust Head Office, with periodic visits to school branches.

• May require coordination with auditors, banks, and government offices.Role & responsibilities
