JD: Accountant – Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (Munger, Bihar)

Position: Accountant
Location: Munger, Bihar
Organization: Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily accounting records: record and reconcile all financial transactions (cash, bank, receipts, payments).
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and bill payments.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, ledgers, trial balance, balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow statements etc.
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and cash-on-hand with system records and physical cash/invoice records.
  • Handle bookkeeping and maintain proper documentation of all vouchers, invoices, receipts.
  • Support internal audits: assist with financial audits, ensure compliance with financial policies, help prepare audit schedules.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using accounting software (e.g. Tally / ERP / Excel).
  • Maintain donor / patient billing records (if relevant), track payments and receipts, ensure accuracy of revenue/expense entries.
  • Coordinate with other hospital departments (OPD, accounts assistant, admin, procurement) to ensure accurate financial data flow.
  • Assist management in budgeting, financial planning, and generating monthly/quarterly MIS (management information system) reports.

  • Required Qualification & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, or equivalent. Preferably M.Com / accounting qualification / equivalent.
  • Proficiency in accounting and bookkeeping software (e.g. Tally, Excel, or any ERP system).
  • Basic understanding of Indian accounting standards and regulations. Knowledge of hospital / NGO accounting (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity in handling financial data.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Good communication skills — for coordination with departments and management.
  • Basic computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word), email, data entry.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Experience & Remuneration (Indicative)

  • Experience:1–5 years (preferred)
  • There could be scope for increments depending on experience, performance, and additional responsibilities.
  • Work Environment & Expectations
  • On-site work at Munger center; regular office hours.
  • Handling hospital-specific accounting, patient billing records, possibly donor/fund accounting if applicable.
  • Adherence to hospital’s financial policies, audit schedules and compliance requirements.
  • Collaboration with administrative, procurement, billing, cash-collection departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
