Academic Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Academic Counselor to guide students in selecting appropriate academic programs and support them throughout the enrollment process. The ideal candidate should have strong counseling, communication, and student engagement skills with proven experience in the education or training sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Counsel students and parents on academic programs, courses, and career pathways
• Understand student needs and recommend suitable courses or institutions
• Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and walk-ins professionally
• Convert inquiries into enrollments by providing accurate and timely information
• Maintain detailed records of student interactions in CRM/ERP systems
• Follow up with prospective students to ensure closure of admissions
• Coordinate with internal teams (admissions, marketing, faculty)
• Participate in counseling sessions, webinars, and education fairs
• Ensure high levels of student satisfaction and ethical counseling practices

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Education, Psychology, Management, or related field preferred)
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as an Academic Counselor or similar role
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and persuasion skills
• Knowledge of admission processes, academic programs, and career counseling
• Ability to meet enrollment targets while maintaining counseling quality
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/ERP systems
• Student-focused, empathetic, and result-oriented approach
