Role Overview:

Ab Initio Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• ETL Development

• Design and build ETL workflows using Ab Initio GDE (Graphical Development Environment).
• Develop reusable components and frameworks for batch and real-time data processing.

• Data Integration & Transformation

• Collaborate with data architects and analysts to understand business requirements.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure consistency and quality.

• Performance Optimization

• Tune ETL jobs for efficiency and scalability.
• Monitor job performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.

• Testing & Debugging

• Conduct unit testing and support system integration testing.
• Debug Ab Initio graphs and resolve data-related issues.

• Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain technical documentation for ETL processes and data flows.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.

• Collaboration

• Work with cross-functional teams including DBAs, QA, and business analysts.
• Participate in Agile development cycles and sprint planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in ETL development using Ab Initio.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting and SQL.
• Experience with performance tuning and large-scale data processing.

Preferred Attributes:

• Familiarity with Ab Initio components like GDE, EME, Conduct IT, and Metadata Hub.
• Knowledge of parallelism, meta-programming, and data lineage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
