JOB DESCRIPTION – WORKSHOP IN-CHARGE / FACTORY SUPERVISOR

Experience: Minimum 5 years in mechanical workshop/fabrication industry
Industry: Machinery Manufacturing (Passenger Hoist Equipment)

COMPANY OVERVIEW:
We are a growing engineering & Equipment Rental company, setting up a new factory for the manufacturing of Construction passenger hoists. The product is currently under design. We are looking to hire our first employee for this vertical— a dependable and experienced Workshop In-Charge who will take responsibility for setting up and running day-to-day workshop operations.

ROLE SUMMARY:
This role involves managing workshop activities including manpower, materials, basic administration, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, self-driven, and capable of taking full responsibility for workshop readiness and operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise daily workshop operations (fabrication, welding, fitting, machining).
  • Allocate and monitor tasks for welders, fitters, helpers, and other staff.
  • Ensure quality standards, workplace safety, and cleanliness are maintained.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for raw materials and job work (e.g., cutting, machining, galvanizing).
  • Keep records of materials, consumables, tools, and daily work progress.
  • Report production status, challenges, and requirements to the management.
  • Ensure readiness for production as per evolving product design requirements.
  • Support in setting up tools, equipment, and workflow within the workshop.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical fabrication or equipment manufacturing workshops.
  • Familiarity with welding, machining, fitting, and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong leadership skills to manage shop floor workers and helpers.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Excel, email communication).
  • Must be organized, responsible, and capable of working independently.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITY:
This is a ground-floor opportunity to join as the company’s first workshop employee. The selected candidate will have the potential to grow into a Factory Manager role as operations expand.
