JOB DESCRIPTION – WORKSHOP IN-CHARGE / FACTORY SUPERVISOR Experience: Minimum 5 years in mechanical workshop/fabrication industry Industry: Machinery Manufacturing (Passenger Hoist Equipment) COMPANY OVERVIEW: We are a growing engineering & Equipment Rental company, setting up a new factory for the manufacturing of Construction passenger hoists. The product is currently under design. We are looking to hire our first employee for this vertical— a dependable and experienced Workshop In-Charge who will take responsibility for setting up and running day-to-day workshop operations. ROLE SUMMARY: This role involves managing workshop activities including manpower, materials, basic administration, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, self-driven, and capable of taking full responsibility for workshop readiness and operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise daily workshop operations (fabrication, welding, fitting, machining). Allocate and monitor tasks for welders, fitters, helpers, and other staff. Ensure quality standards, workplace safety, and cleanliness are maintained. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for raw materials and job work (e.g., cutting, machining, galvanizing). Keep records of materials, consumables, tools, and daily work progress. Report production status, challenges, and requirements to the management. Ensure readiness for production as per evolving product design requirements. Support in setting up tools, equipment, and workflow within the workshop. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: ITI / Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical fabrication or equipment manufacturing workshops. Familiarity with welding, machining, fitting, and fabrication processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (preferred but not mandatory). Strong leadership skills to manage shop floor workers and helpers. Basic computer knowledge (Excel, email communication). Must be organized, responsible, and capable of working independently.
