Job Summary:

WordPress Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites based on client or internal requirements.
• Customize existing themes or create custom themes from scratch.
• Develop, extend, or modify WordPress plugins as needed.
• Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS.
• Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and responsiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or technical issues.
• Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other developers.
• Implement third-party APIs and integrations (e.g., payment gateways, CRM tools, REST APIs).
• Maintain code integrity and organization via version control (e.g., Git).
• Stay current on WordPress core updates, best practices, and trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and best practices.

• Familiarity with advanced custom fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies.
• Experience with WooCommerce and other popular plugins.

• Good understanding of security best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Bonus Experience (Not Required)

• Familiarity with SEO best practices
• Experience building internal tools or working with no-code/low-code platforms
• Contributions to personal or open-source projects
• Experience with headless WordPress or REST API integrations.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue.
• UI/UX sensibility and experience working with Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD.
• Experience with multi-language sites (WPML, Polylang).
• Familiarity with hosting environments like cPanel, Plesk, or managed WordPress hosts (e.g., Kinsta, WP Engine).
