The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins, building responsive websites, and implementing client-side and server-side features. You should have a strong understanding of the WordPress ecosystem and be comfortable with modern web development practices. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain WordPress websites based on client or internal requirements. Customize existing themes or create custom themes from scratch. Develop, extend, or modify WordPress plugins as needed. Ensure high-performance and availability, and manage all technical aspects of the CMS. Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and responsiveness. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or technical issues. Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other developers. Implement third-party APIs and integrations (e.g., payment gateways, CRM tools, REST APIs). Maintain code integrity and organization via version control (e.g., Git). Stay current on WordPress core updates, best practices, and trends. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and MySQL. Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, filters, and best practices. Experience with page builders like Elementor , WPBakery , or Gutenberg . Familiarity with advanced custom fields (ACF), custom post types, and taxonomies. Experience with WooCommerce and other popular plugins. Knowledge of website performance optimization and basic SEO principles. Comfortable using Git and local development tools (e.g., Docker, MAMP, Local WP). Good understanding of security best practices. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. Bonus Experience (Not Required) Familiarity with SEO best practices Experience building internal tools or working with no-code/low-code platforms Contributions to personal or open-source projects Experience with headless WordPress or REST API integrations. Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React or Vue. UI/UX sensibility and experience working with Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD. Experience with multi-language sites (WPML, Polylang). Familiarity with hosting environments like cPanel, Plesk, or managed WordPress hosts (e.g., Kinsta, WP Engine).
