Job Overview: We are looking for a highly capable and experienced WordPress Developer to join our engineering team. This role requires hands-on expertise in both backend and frontend development within the WordPress ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, React, and API integrations. You will be responsible for developing custom themes and plugins, integrating external services, and delivering fast, secure, and well-structured websites and applications. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to specific functional and business requirements. Integrate third-party APIs and services, including RESTful APIs and GraphQL, ensuring smooth data exchange and secure authentication. Implement responsive and interactive frontend components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and React. Optimize websites for performance, scalability, SEO, and page load speed using modern tools and best practices. Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility and implement accessibility standards where applicable. Maintain high standards of security, including regular updates, secure coding practices, and vulnerability checks. Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and QA to ensure successful project delivery. Use Git for version control, and manage codebases through feature branches and pull requests. Troubleshoot issues and bugs using structured debugging and error tracing techniques. Required Qualifications: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development. Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks. Strong knowledge of WordPress core, hooks, filters, and plugin architecture. Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows. Demonstrated ability to integrate and consume APIs in production environments. Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Clear communication and ability to work independently as well as within a team. Preferred Skills: Experience with headless WordPress and decoupled architecture. Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or similar. Understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes. Awareness of web accessibility (WCAG) and technical SEO practices.
