WordPress Developer - Custom Theme Developer (No Page Builders)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer who specializes in custom theme development using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate must be able to build WordPress themes from scratch — not using page builders like Elementor, Divi, WPBakery, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop fully custom WordPress themes from scratch
• Convert HTML to fully custom WordPress themes from scratch
• Write clean, optimized, well-structured code
• Customize WordPress functionality using PHP & hooks
• Develop custom post types, taxonomies, widgets, and shortcodes
• Optimize websites for speed, security, and SEO
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance, and compatibility issues
• Work closely with designers and project managers

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in WordPress Core, PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery
• Experience building custom WordPress themes & templates (without page builders)

Strong understanding of:

• Theme hierarchy
• Hooks & filters
• WordPress APIs
• WP Query
• Experience with responsive & cross-browser development
• Knowledge of Git / version control
• Good understanding of website performance optimization
• Experience with ACF, WooCommerce, REST API
• Knowledge of Tailwind / Bootstrap
• Familiarity with SEO-friendly development
• Basic server / cPanel / hosting knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience
• Portfolio / GitHub / website links demonstrating custom theme work are mandatory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
