Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Design & Implementation Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade Linux environments tailored to BFSI industry needs. Design scalable, resilient, and secure Linux infrastructures to support business-critical applications. System Administration & Performance Optimization Optimize Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE) for high availability, reliability, and performance. Conduct regular system audits, patch management, and kernel tuning for optimal system health. Security & Compliance Implement and enforce security best practices, ensuring compliance with BFSI industry standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.). Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability management, and security hardening on Linux systems. Automation & Configuration Management Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform for efficient and consistent system provisioning and management. Streamline deployment processes with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Incident & Problem Management Serve as a Tier-3 escalation point for critical Linux-related incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis. Drive proactive monitoring and ing strategies to mitigate potential issues before they impact operations. Backup & Disaster Recovery Design and implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for mission-critical systems. Ensure data integrity and system availability through regular testing of DR procedures. Monitoring & Logging Utilize tools such as Logic Monitor, Big Panda, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk to proactively monitor system health and performance. Analyze logs for anomaly detection and performance tuning. Cloud & Virtualization Management Manage Linux workloads in AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration with on-prem infrastructure. Optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency in hybrid cloud setups. Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, networking, and database teams, to ensure end-to-end system reliability. Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers on Linux best practices and emerging technologies. Documentation & SOPs Maintain comprehensive documentation of Linux configurations, security policies, and best practices. Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years in Windows/Linux engineering and operations, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role. Expertise in RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE Linux distributions. Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Perl for automation and system tasks. Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform). Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing in Linux environments. Advanced knowledge of Linux security hardening, SELinux, and vulnerability management. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration in Linux environments. Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Linux-based cloud solutions. Knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) in Linux environments. Familiarity with BFSI-specific regulatory requirements and their impact on Linux system design. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
