Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and execute migration of Windows-based servers

  and

  Exchange

  from on-premises data centers to Azure and M365, ensuring minimal business disruption.

• Analyze existing server workloads, dependencies, storage, and networking

  to design appropriate Azure architecture for each use case.

• Perform server inventory, compatibility assessments, and readiness checks

  using tools such as Azure Migrate.

• Configure, deploy, and optimize Azure infrastructure

  (VMs, storage, networking, identity) to support migrated workloads.

• Design and implement secure hybrid connectivity

  between on-premises environments and Azure using VPNs, ExpressRoute, and Azure networking solutions.

• Migrate Active Directory, file shares, databases, Exchange and Applications

  as needed, ensuring full functionality post-migration. Develop, document, and execute a comprehensive migration strategy for moving servers and Exchange mailboxes to Azure Cloud and Exchange Online.

• Migration Tools:

  Implement migration tools and scripts (such as Azure Migrate, BitTitan, native Microsoft migration tools) to facilitate seamless and secure data and mailbox migration with minimal downtime.

• Develop and document migration runbooks, plans, and rollback strategies

  to ensure repeatable, reliable transitions.

• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues

  during and after migration, leveraging Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.

• Automate and streamline migration tasks

  using PowerShell, ARM templates, or Azure CLI.

• Work collaboratively with application owners, security teams, and other stakeholders

  to ensure successful migration and integration.

• Provide post-migration support and knowledge transfer

  to internal IT teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience administering and migrating Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, or later) along with Exchange 2016 / 2019 Exchange Environments.
• In-depth expertise in

  Azure IaaS services

  : Virtual Machines, Storage, Azure Active Directory, Networking.
• Familiarity with

  Azure Migrate

  , Azure Site Recovery, and related migration tools.
• Strong understanding of

  networking and security fundamentals

  in both on-premises and Azure contexts.
• Deep knowledge of Exchange administration (on-prem and online), mailbox/database management, DAG, PowerShell scripting, and Exchange Online Protection.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments.
• Fluent in using migration and automation tools (Azure Migrate, third-party migration tools, PowerShell scripts).
• Conduct testing and validation to ensure successful data transfer and system integrity post-migration.
• Proficient in

  PowerShell and scripting

  for automation.
• Experience with

  Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP

  , and hybrid identity management.
• Knowledge of Windows-based application dependencies and troubleshooting in migration scenarios.
• Excellent documentation, planning, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert and Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) are preferred.
