Job Description

Role & responsibilities We are looking for a skilled L2 Operations and Administration Engineer specializing in Microsoft Exchange Server to support and maintain enterprise messaging services. The role involves handling L2 escalations, troubleshooting Exchange-related issues, managing mail flow, and ensuring the security and availability of Exchange environments . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Exchange Server administration, hybrid Exchange environments, PowerShell scripting, and email security policies . Major Duties & Responsibilities: Exchange Server Administration & Support: Manage and support Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Exchange Online (Microsoft 365) . Monitor and maintain Exchange mail flow, databases, and high availability configurations . Troubleshoot email delivery issues, mailbox access problems, and Exchange services failures . Implement retention policies, mailbox quotas, and archiving strategies . Exchange Hybrid & M365 Administration: Support Exchange Hybrid configurations with Azure AD Connect, ADFS, and SMTP relays . Manage mailbox migrations (on-prem to cloud and vice versa) . Troubleshoot hybrid mail flow issues, connectivity problems, and directory synchronization . Assist in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and security policy enforcement . Email Security & Compliance: Configure and maintain SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and Exchange Transport Rules (ETRs) . Enforce email encryption policies and anti-spam filtering using Microsoft Defender . Monitor Exchange logs and message tracking for suspicious activities . Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 email security policies. Incident, Problem & Change Management (L2 Support): Handle L2 escalations related to email delivery failures, mailbox access issues, and performance bottlenecks . Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and work with L3 engineers for critical issue resolution. Assist in patch management, service updates, and Exchange cumulative updates . Work within ITIL frameworks for Incident, Problem, and Change Management . PowerShell & Automation: Develop PowerShell scripts to automate mailbox provisioning, report generation, and monitoring. Automate Exchange maintenance tasks, backup management, and policy enforcement . Implement scheduled jobs for log analysis, spam filtering updates, and security monitoring . Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience in Microsoft Exchange Server administration. Strong understanding of Exchange Hybrid environments and Office 365 Exchange Online. Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with SMTP, DNS, MX records, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Knowledge of email security solutions (Defender for Office 365, Mimecast, Proofpoint, etc.). Exposure to ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management. Prefered Notice period -30/45 days Microsoft exchange server 2016/2019
