Job Description

Key duties and responsibilities Sorting and organizing: Separate and categorize materials, products, or mail on a production line or within a warehouse according to predetermined guidelines. Inspection and quality control: Visually inspect items for damage, defects, or inconsistencies and remove inferior products from the sorting process. Inventory and documentation: Ensure items are properly labeled, help with inventory counts, and record information like grade or identification numbers. Preparation for shipment: Pack, label, and prepare sorted items for storage or outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Equipment operation: Operate and monitor sorting equipment, conveyor belts, or other warehouse machinery like pallet jacks and forklifts. A sorter may also need to clear jams or report malfunctions.
