Job Description

Job Summary:

The Residential Counsellor (Warden) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and discipline of the hostel, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive environment for the residents (students/faculty/staff). The Residential Counsellor (Warden) acts as a guardian figure, maintaining order, resolving conflicts, and attending to the wellbeing of hostel residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day management and smooth functioning of the hostel.
Ensure discipline and decorum among residents as per the university policies.
Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in hostel premises.
Handle grievances of students when required.
Maintain up-to-date records of hostel occupancy and allotments.
Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, and hostel facilities.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams for upkeep.
Report and escalate any serious issues to the management promptly.
Implement emergency protocols and be available on call in case of any crisis.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

Graduate/Postgraduate from a recognized university (preference for degrees in administration, social work, or education).
Prior experience as a warden or in a student affairs role preferred.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to handle adolescents/young adults with empathy and authority.
Should be willing to stay on campus (residential role).
