Job Description: Stores Assistant Manager Motor Division

1. Job Purpose

To effectively manage the overall stores operations of the Motor Division, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely material availability, adherence to safety & compliance, and smooth coordination with production, procurement, and logistics teams.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Maintain optimum stock levels (minimum, maximum & reorder levels) for motors, components, consumables and spares.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy in GRN, Issue & Return entries in ERP.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and support monthly & yearly physical stock audits.
  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving and dead stock; initiate action for disposal or utilization.

B. Material Receipt & Issue

  • Verify incoming materials with PO, invoice & quality standards.
  • Ensure proper labeling, binning, stacking and storage as per motor component standards.
  • Ensure timely issue of materials to Production, Maintenance and Service teams.
  • Handle returnable materials and ensure tracking of supplier return items.

C. ERP & Documentation

  • Ensure all transactions are accurately posted in ERP (SAP/Tally/Oracle/Custom ERP).
  • Maintain documentation for stock registers, GRNs, Material Issue Notes, Purchase Returns, etc.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports on inventory, consumption, shortages & stock valuation.

D. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality & Dispatch for material planning.
  • Follow up with vendors for pending materials along with purchase team.
  • Support dispatch team for outbound shipments when required.

E. Compliance, Safety & 5S

  • Ensure stores area follows 5S, FIFO, safety guidelines & material handling protocols.
  • Train storekeepers on correct handling of motors, coils, casings & electrical spares.
  • Comply with internal and external audits.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, stores management & ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage manpower and allocate tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of motor components, spares, packaging & storage techniques.
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency in Excel & reporting.
  • Strong communication & coordination skills.

4. Qualification & Experience

  • Diploma / Degree in Mechanical / EEE / Production / Supply Chain.
  • 48 years of experience in Stores Operations, preferably in Motor / Manufacturing Industry.
  • Experience in ERP-based inventory management is mandatory.
