The mechanical engineer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems and components for various construction projects. This role requires a blend of engineering expertise, creativity and project management skills to ensure that mechanical designs meet safety, performance and regulatory standards while also being cost-effective and sustainable

This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Globals Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical systems and ensuring their integration within building projects.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the overall design of HVAC systems & deliverables, including Concept, Scheme, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specification, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Create and refine mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, as well as other mechanical components relevant to building projects
• Work closely with architects, structural engineers and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into overall building designs
• Design to current legislation and codes of practice
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, calculation reports and installation guidelines for project stakeholders
• Prepared to undergo training in learning new software if needed
• Open to work odd hours if required to meet deadlines
• Willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback.
• Understanding codes & standards local to project location and utilizing the latest & industry leading software.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in designing of HVAC systems
• Experience in design of HVAC systems for commercial, residential, retail projects.
• Ideally should have experience of sustainability-based projects
• Good understating & knowledge of international codes like ASHRAE, SMACNA
• Good IT skills comprising Microsoft Office, HVAC cooling load software (Trane Trace, Camel, IES VE etc), AutoCAD, Bluebeam
• Experience working on US/UK/Australia projects will be an added advantage
