Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your embedded software testing expertise in a dynamic and innovative field. Youll work alongside highly motivated and collaborative teammates. Youll ensure the quality and reliability of software modules critical to our solutions. Day-to-day, youll work closely with teams across the business (such as software architects, hardware designers, and RAMS departments), mentor team members, and contribute to the development and execution of robust testing processes. Youll specifically take care of testing software modules based on their Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) , but also support software integration and functional testing activities . Well look to you for: Testing and verifying software modules as per defined SIL levels Applying software processes and standards, such as CMMI, for testing Collaborating with software architects to contribute to specifications and architecture Preparing and executing requirement-based test cases and creating test reports Identifying and resolving testing issues, including creating stubs and drivers Performing software module integration and functional testing Providing mentorship to team members and guiding them to achieve quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) objectives Peer reviewing and offering constructive feedback to team members Ensuring 100% reporting of CONQ (Cost of Non-Quality) All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. Instead, weve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: Bachelor's or Postgraduate degree in Engineering IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent 46 years of experience in software testing for embedded or real-time applications Proven ability to test software modules as per SIL levels Knowledge of testing techniques like black box, white box, equivalence class, boundary value analysis, and robustness analysis Experience with testing tools like VectorCast, RTRT, and static analysis tools (e.g., QAC, PCLint) Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, ADA, and scripting languages like Python Familiarity with RTOS environments (Linux, VxWorks, QNX) and protocols (TCP/IP, CAN) Knowledge of software design methodologies (SADT, OOPS) and modeling techniques (UML, SysML, MATLAB) Understanding of domain-specific standards like DO-178 or CENELEC EN 50128 Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and guide others Experience in peer reviewing and providing constructive feedback Patience to repeat tests and ensure thorough validation Things youll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career.
