VP

As a Vice President in the Global Banking and Markets division at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in providing support functions for Sigma/Sigma+/Infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include: - Enhancing and supporting FX C++ library services - Developing and adding new API interfaces - Enhancing service-oriented applications - Creating tools for the distribution of Sigma to users - Resolving bug fixes and XDS/Market Data issues - Developing and maintaining a testing framework for the Quant libraries - Assisting IT with integration issues - Developing new components and enhancing the Quant Library - Contributing to the release of Sigma and IT quant libraries - Developing systems/architecture relevant to the needs of the desk/team To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications: - A degree in Software Engineering - Minimum of 10 years of development experience using Primary C++/C++11 and Secondary skill in Python - Expertise in software product development - Strong experience in network programming, multithreading/multiprocessing low latency development - Solid experience in C++ concepts like templates and C++ 11 standard Library - Proficiency in code versioning tools such as GIT, SVN, etc. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team - Focus on delivering high-quality results within specified timelines Additional skills that would be beneficial for this role include: - Python development experience - Knowledge of Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools - Awareness of Java programming - Familiarity with web technologies including web services/REST, HTML5, Node.js, and Angular.js - Experience in designing and implementing a web-based UI framework - Spreadsheet development experience in Excel and VBA Please note that certain roles at HSBC, including this one, are designated as Enhanced Vetting Roles.
