Job Overview
The VP of Enterprise Data Strategy & AI Innovation is a senior leadership role within the Innovation Office, reporting directly to the Chief Innovation Officer (CINO). This role is responsible for defining and executing a forward-looking data strategy in close collaboration with the CINO to enable innovation, enhance efficiency, and unlock transformative business value. The Data Strategist will work closely with Business Units across the enterprise to identify opportunities, guide analytics investments, and lead a team of data scientists in productizing AI-driven solutions. This position demands both strategic vision and operational execution, helping the organization transition from data-rich to insight-led and AIenabled.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership (in collaboration with the Chief Innovation Officer) o Co-develop and drive the organization's enterprise data strategy aligned with the innovation agenda.
- Partner with the Chief Innovation Officer to identify high-value opportunities for AI and data-led transformation.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to Business Unit leaders, translating business challenges into data-driven roadmaps.
- Shape the vision for data as a product and champion the responsible and impactful use of AI and advanced analytics.
- Innovation & Productization (under the strategic direction of the Chief Innovation Officer) o Lead the design and development of scalable, repeatable data products and AI tools that enhance internal operations and client-facing services.
- In coordination with the CINO, prioritize innovation initiatives that can be productized for service delivery transformation and measurable efficiency gains.
- Define and manage frameworks for data innovation, experimentation, and rapid iteration across business functions.
- Team & Operational Oversight o Build, lead, and develop a high-performing data science and analytics team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Drive execution of projects involving machine learning, statistical modeling, data automation, and predictive analytics.
- Implement modern data pipelines and analytical workflows to accelerate insight generation.
- Maintain project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics with accountability for delivery and impact.
- Identify opportunities to use data and AI to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and improve performance across functions.
- Develop KPIs and measurement frameworks to track innovation ROI, adoption, and business impact.
- Efficiency & Enablement o Use data and automation to streamline internal processes, reduce manual work, and improve speed-to-insight.
- Identify and act on opportunities to embed data intelligence across business workflows and innovation projects.
- Lead the development of dashboards, reports, and decision support tools that enable smarter, faster decision-making.
- Governance & Collaboration o Collaborate with the Chief Innovation Officer to ensure strategic alignment with broader enterprise innovation strategy and priorities.
- Work cross-functionally with IT, Legal and Compliance teams to ensure ethical, compliant, and responsible Data use.
- Establish policies and procedures for data access, privacy, and security that reflect enterprise standards and innovation goals.
- Represent the Innovation Office in enterprise data governance discussions. o Develop and manage data vendor alliances, establishing unique partnerships, where applicable.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 15+ years in data strategy and analytics with a proven track record of turning data into business outcomes.
- Proven ability to develop and execute data strategies that drive business transformation.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and delivering data products at scale.
- Deep knowledge of data science, AI/ML, cloud data platforms, and modern analytics stacks.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to collaborate closely with C-level leaders, particularly the Chief Innovation Officer.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and translate strategy into execution.
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industries required.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and change management skills.

- Prolonged sitting at a desk or workstation while using a computer, attending virtual meetings, and performing job duties.

- Ability to lift and carry light items (generally up to 1015 pounds), such as a laptop, files, or small office supplies.
- Ability to maintain a safe and ergonomically appropriate home workspace in compliance with company guidelines.
Work Environment
- Duties are performed primarily in a home?based office or office environment.
- The workspace should be free from excessive noise or distractions to support meetings and productivity.
- Standard office equipment: Work is performed using typical office tools such as a computer, phone, printer, and other peripherals.
- Prolonged screen exposure: Regular use of a computer and video conferencing platforms.
- Virtual collaboration: Frequent interaction with team members, clients, or stakeholders via email, messaging platforms, and video conferencing.
- Standard Company work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm EST.
