Vmc setter cum operator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled VMC Setter cum Operator to set up and operate VMC machines efficiently to produce high-precision components as per drawings and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in machine setting, tool selection, offset adjustments, and quality inspection using measuring instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) according to job orders and engineering drawings.
• Understand and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and machining symbols.
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for the job.
• Perform tool setting, workpiece setting, and zero offset adjustments.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.).
• Perform in-process inspection and adjust machine settings as needed to maintain quality.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with the quality team for final inspection and troubleshooting.
• Report any abnormalities in machine performance or tool wear.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or relevant trade.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in VMC machine operation and setting.
• Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controllers (based on machine type).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of machining processes and materials.
• Skilled in using measuring instruments for quality checks.
• Willingness to work in shifts if required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with basic VMC programming/editing (optional but preferred).
• Knowledge of fixture designing or improvements.
• Basic troubleshooting of machine or tool issues.

Salary: As per industry standards
