The VMC Setter / Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and quality requirements. The role involves machine setup, tool setting, job inspection, and maintaining production efficiency while ensuring safety and quality standards. Set up VMC machines according to job specifications and engineering drawings. Load and unload workpieces, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Prepare and adjust tool offsets and work offsets (G54, G55, etc.). Operate CNC/VMC machines to produce parts within defined tolerances. Verify program correctness before running production (dry run / simulation) Basic understanding of G-code and M-code. Editing CNC programs when required (minor adjustments). Coordinate with CNC programmers for process improvements.
