Job Description: Project Manager (Defense & Aerospace) Job Title: Project Manager – Defense and Aerospace Location: [Mysore ] Position Overview: We are seeking experienced Project Managers to lead and oversee complex projects in the defense and aerospace domains. The ideal candidates will have a background in electronics engineering, a strong track record of managing international customers, and over 10 years of experience in project management. The role involves planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering high-quality projects while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to organizational processes and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Allocate resources and ensure alignment with project goals. Manage risks, track progress, and implement corrective actions as required. Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for international customers. Ensure clear communication of project status, updates, and deliverables. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive engagement. Technical Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to achieve project objectives. Ensure compliance with aerospace and defense standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, or equivalent. Facilitate First Article Inspections (FAI) and other customer requirements. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain project documentation as per QMS standards. Prepare and present reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure adherence to organizational procedures and customer specifications. Team Management: Lead project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. Conduct regular reviews and resolve issues impacting project success. Provide guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in the defense or aerospace domain. Proven experience working with international customers. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent). Knowledge of defense and aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP, ITAR) Experience with electronic manufacturing processes, including SMT, wave soldering, conformal coating, and ESS. Strong understanding of supply chain and procurement processes in defense/aerospace projects. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., ERPNext or equivalent). Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective leadership and team management skills. High level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Culturally aware and sensitive to working with diverse international teams. Preferred Attributes: Experience with FAI processes and AS9102 forms.
