Job Description

The Vice Principal-

Job Overview:

The Vice Principal will support the Principal in overseeing the overall management and daily

operations of the school, with a specific focus on creating a safe, supportive, and empowering

environment for the students. The Vice Principal will work closely with faculty and staff to

ensure high academic standards, student well-being, and the smooth functioning of the

residential boarding aspect of the school. The role requires leadership, communication skills,

and a deep commitment to the welfare and academic success of students.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Academic Leadership:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and review of the academic

curriculum.

  • Ensure that teaching standards are maintained and that the needs of students

are met.

  • Monitor student progress and academic achievement, including overseeing

assessments and evaluations.

  • Support teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies and

maintaining a positive learning environment.

  • Help organize professional development programs for staff.

2. Residential and Pastoral Care:

  • Oversee the well-being and safety of students, ensuring a nurturing residential

environment.

  • Act as a point of contact for students and parents regarding personal and

academic issues.

  • Work with Housemasters/Housemistresses to ensure the students' emotional,

social, and psychological needs are met.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and residential policies.

3. Discipline and Behavior Management:

  • Support the development of policies and procedures for student behavior,

ensuring they align with the schools ethos.

  • Work with the Principal to address and resolve any behavioral issues that

arise.

  • Promote a positive school culture of respect, responsibility, and discipline.

4. Administrative Support:

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the school in the absence of the

Principal.

  • Oversee student attendance, reports, and other school-related documentation.

  • extracurricular activities, including clubs, sports, and cultural events.

5. Staff Management:

  • Provide leadership and support to teaching and non-teaching staff.

  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of staff.

  • Foster collaboration and effective communication within the staff community.

6. Community and Parental Engagement:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider

school community.

  • Assist in organizing and participating in school events, including open days,

parent-teacher meetings, and cultural programs.

  • Act as a liaison between the school and outside organizations, educational

bodies, and the local community.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Masters degree in Education Administration or a related

field.At
