The Network Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the company’s network infrastructure. This role will oversee daily operations, lead a team of network engineers/technicians, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive network reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage the Network Operations team (L1–L3 engineers). Monitor and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, VPN, load balancers). Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes. Establish and maintain operational procedures, playbooks, and escalation paths. Ensure 24/7/365 network availability with proactive monitoring and automated alerts. Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance with corporate standards and best practices. Manage vendor relationships, service providers, and network contracts. Perform capacity planning and propose network improvements. Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and ensure preventive measures are implemented. Prepare performance reports, metrics, and dashboards for leadership. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 7+ years of network engineering/operations experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent network devices Routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, STP, etc.) Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, etc.) Experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management). Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent certifications. Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python, Terraform). Exposure to SD-WAN, SASE, and modern cloud networking.
