UPVC Window Fabricator

A uPVC windows fabricator is responsible for cutting, assembling, and welding uPVC profiles to construct high-quality windows and doors. The role requires the use of specialized machinery and tools to ensure the final products meet specific dimensions and quality standards. Duties and responsibilitiesA uPVC windows fabricator's daily tasks can include:

• Reading and interpreting plans: Reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the precise requirements for each window or door.
• Cutting and measuring: Accurately measuring and cutting uPVC profiles and glass panes to the specified dimensions.
• Welding and assembly: Using machinery to weld and join the cut profiles to form the window or door frame.
• Finishing and hardware installation: Installing all necessary hardware and fittings, including handles, locks, hinges, and gaskets.
• Glazing: Fitting and sealing glass into the assembled frames.
• Quality control: Performing thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before they are sent for installation.
• Machine operation: Setting up, operating, and maintaining the various hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment used in the fabrication process.
• Material handling: Assisting with the loading, unloading, and organization of materials and finished products.
• Paperwork: Completing job sheets and other quality assurance documentation.
• Workshop maintenance: Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and complying with all health and safety regulations.

Required skills and qualifications

• Fabrication experience: Proven experience in cutting, assembling, and finishing uPVC products is often a key requirement.
• Technical knowledge: A strong understanding of uPVC systems, fabrication standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Reading blueprints: The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and blueprints.
• Attention to detail: A strong focus on quality and dimensional accuracy to ensure a high-standard finished product.
• Tool proficiency: The ability to safely and effectively use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Physical stamina: The physical strength and endurance to handle heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
• Teamwork and communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and production managers.
• Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and address any issues that arise during fabrication.
• Additional training: A certification or diploma in a related fabrication, mechanical, or technical field may be an advantage.
