Unix, IP Networking, and FreeSWITCH Engineer

Job Description!!We are seeking a highly skilled & experienced Unix, IP Networking, & FreeSWITCH Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing our Unix-based systems, ensuring the stability & security of our IP network infrastructure, and optimizing our FreeSWITCH VoIP telephony solutions. If you have a deep understanding of Unix/Linux systems, IP networking protocols, & VoIP technologies

Responsibilities

• Unix/Linux System Administration:
• Install, configure, & maintain Unix/Linux servers, ensuring high availability & performance
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, & perform routine maintenance tasks
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems
• Automate tasks and develop scripts for system optimization & efficiency
• Collaborate with software development & application teams to provide server support
• IP Networking:
• Design, implement, & maintain our IP network infrastructure
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, & VPNs
• Monitor network performance, diagnose & resolve connectivity & security issues
• Implement & manage IP addressing, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and VLANs
• Ensure network security by implementing best practices & security measures
• FreeSWITCH VoIP Engineering:
• Install, configure, & maintain FreeSWITCH servers & VoIP gateways
• Create & manage SIP trunks, extensions, & dial plans
• Troubleshoot & resolve VoIP-related issues, including call quality & connectivity problems
• Integrate FreeSWITCH with other telephony systems & applications as required
• Implement security measures to protect our VoIP infrastructure from threats
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in Unix/Linux system administration & IP networking
• In-depth knowledge of FreeSWITCH & VoIP technologies
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation
• Strong problem-solving & troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication & collaboration abilities
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC), or FreeSWITCH Certification is a plus
