About the Role:
We are seeking a highly talented/creative UAV Design and Development Engineer who is an extraordinary first principles thinker with strong analytical skills. As an employee you will primarily work on maintaining, optimizing, updating existing/new documents by implementing version control on and coming up with new aircraft concepts and mechanisms using your engineering knowledge at the Redwing facility at Bangalore. This is a high-impact role and would involve significant interactions with HQ and deployment teams.
What will you be doing?
- CAD Design - Collaborate with different teams to maintain/optimize existing designs, along with different prototypes for various projects.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation, assembly instructions, and Engineering drawings to facilitate seamless production,assembly processes and R&D.
- Work closely with Interdisciplinary teams to integrate components and systems efficiently.
- Design and develop parts/Mechanisms from concept to prototype by using a rapid prototyping method (3D printers, laser cutters, CNC mills, etc).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD tools and methodologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance design processes and efficiency.
- Follow established engineering best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of design procedures and workflows.
- Conduct basic analysis and simulations on CAD models to evaluate structural integrity, tolerance, and performance to identify potential design improvements.
See your fit:
- B.Tech in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or any related field.
- 6 months-1 year of industry experience in CAD-driven design, prototyping, and simulation.
- Should have a basic understanding of aircraft aerodynamics, structure, and material.
- Proficient in Onshape for 3D parametric CAD (Solid, Surface, Sheet Metal, rendering) and Fusion 360 for CAM and CAM operations and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Prior experience with SolidWorks is highly desirable and will be considered an added advantage.
- Strong Understanding of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly),DFSR (Design for Serviceability and Reusability) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Can use power tools and is hands-on with mechanical operations and Basic knowledge of Rapid Prototyping.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling.
- Participated in any Robotic or Aero design projects.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Availability to work on weekends and outside of business hours, when required.
- Priority given to candidates with immediate availability.
