Job Roles of a Travel Consultant 1. Client Consultation & AdvisoryUnderstand client needs, preferences, and budget for travel. Suggest suitable destinations, itineraries, and travel packages. Provide guidance on visa requirements, travel insurance, and documentation. Advise on best travel times, weather conditions, and local culture. 2. Itinerary Planning & CustomizationDesign and customize travel itineraries (flights, hotels, transport, sightseeing). Recommend add-on experiences (adventure activities, cultural tours, events). Ensure itineraries are realistic, cost-effective, and enjoyable. 3. Bookings & ReservationsHandle flight, hotel, train, bus, and tour package reservations. Coordinate with suppliers, DMCs, and vendors for seamless arrangements. Manage booking confirmations, amendments, and cancellations. 4. Sales & Revenue GenerationPromote and sell holiday packages, group tours, honeymoon trips, adventure tours etc. Upsell/cross-sell extra services (travel insurance, activities, transfers). Work on achieving monthly/quarterly sales targets.
