Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Patient/Family Support:
Educate, counsel, and provide emotional support to potential donors' families and transplant recipients/families.
Organ Donation Coordination:
Facilitate deceased and live organ/tissue donation, coordinate retrieval, storage, and transport.
Patient Management:
Evaluate recipient eligibility, manage pre-transplant workup, and coordinate post-transplant follow-up care.
Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare and maintain all transplant files, consents, and ensure adherence to legal (like India's THOA) and hospital protocols.
Team Collaboration:
Work with surgeons, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to ensure seamless care.
Awareness:
Engage in public awareness campaigns for organ donation.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, or related field (RN license often required).
Experience:
Clinical experience, often in critical care or transplant.
Skills:
Excellent communication, empathy, organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, discretion, and ability to work under pressure.
Attributes:
Compassion, maturity, patient-centricity, high ethics, and teamwork.

Work Environment:

Often involves on-call duties, requiring 24/7 availability for urgent cases.
A fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
