Trainee Technician

You will be responsible for setting up and operating a haemodialysis machine to provide dialysis treatment for patients with kidney failure. This includes attaching the dialyzer and tubing to the machine and priming the extracorporeal circuits with 0.9% normal saline to prepare the machine for use. Additionally, you will label the dialyser and blood lines with the patient's name and ID before the first use (excluding single use) and prepare dialysis solutions, including mixing bicarbonate according to the formula. Part of your role will involve explaining the dialysis procedure and the operation of the haemodialysis machine to the patient before treatment to help allay anxieties. You will also be responsible for connecting the haemodialysis machine to the patient's access site to initiate dialysis and monitoring the machine for any malfunctions that may occur during the treatment process. In addition to the above tasks, you will need to maintain all log books, forms, and registers related to the haemodialysis machine and patient treatments. This includes ensuring that accurate records are kept to track the progress and outcomes of the dialysis treatments provided.,
