Trainee Technician

Key responsibilities

• Perform inspections and repairs: Conduct routine checks on equipment and facilities, and troubleshoot and repair issues as they arise. This includes tasks related to plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
• Assist with installation: Help with the installation of new equipment and facilities under the guidance of senior technicians.
• Emergency response: Be available to respond to emergencies, protect guests and associates, and handle system malfunctions.
• Maintain tools and equipment: Clean, lubricate, and maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel to ensure they are in good working order.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders and logs.
• Ensure safety: Follow safety protocols and company procedures while performing all maintenance tasks and ensure a clean and organized work area.

Required skills and qualifications

• Technical skills: A basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems is often required. Knowledge of HVAC systems is also beneficial.
• Hands-on ability: Proficiency with hand and power tools is essential.
• Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are needed to diagnose and fix issues.
• Physical fitness: The ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various physical conditions.
