Therapeutic Area Statistics Lead (Vaccine)

Job Description: You play a critical role in the growth and success of the GSK organization in China and Japan. As part of the Asia Development organization, you will lead the biostatistics team focusing on the therapeutic area of Vaccine in Asia. Your responsibilities include: - Building and managing a high-performing team of statisticians from Japan and China, with a keen sense of cultural awareness - Setting and leading the biostatistical strategy and technical expertise in the therapeutic area, fostering innovation and continuous improvement - Developing in-depth clinical and statistical knowledge across assets and countries - Partnering with global and regional counterparts to align strategic objectives and ensure high-quality execution of trial analyses and submissions - Influencing planning and decision-making strategy for a portfolio of assets by establishing effective business relationships - Driving quantitative decision-making to inform drug development in Asia - Contributing to the strategic direction of asset development and regulatory submissions through robust statistical knowledge - Ensuring expertise in all methodological aspects of drug development statistics - Representing GSK Asia Development Biostatistics at scientific meetings and engaging with external groups to advocate for statistical methodology Basic Qualifications: - PhD (preferred) or Masters Degree in Statistics or related field - 10+ years of experience in drug development - 5+ years of experience as a people leader - Knowledge of drug development process Preferred Experience Or Qualifications: - Experience as a project lead statistician in a pharmaceutical or biotech company in Asia - Regulatory interactions experience and knowledge of regional regulations - Ability to influence management, stakeholders, and staff towards positive change - Broad understanding of external landscape related to the role - Proficiency in programming languages like SAS and/or R - Effective project management skills - Demonstrated ability to manage outsourcing or externalization of statistical tasks - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Business acumen and leadership in applying innovative approaches - Initiative, drive, and ability to deliver under demanding deadlines (Note: Omitted additional details of the company as it was not present in the job description),
