TEXTILE DESIGNER

As a Textile Designer specializing in home furnishings, your main responsibility will be to create original designs such as prints, weaves, embroideries, jacquards, etc. that are suitable for home decor. You will be expected to develop seasonal collections that are in line with current trends, color forecasts, and consumer preferences. Close collaboration with the product development team is essential to ensure that your designs are suitable for mass production. In order to stay updated with the latest trends and influences in home decor, you will be required to conduct thorough market research. This includes monitoring trends, analyzing competitor products, attending trade shows, and design fairs. Your ability to translate your creative concepts into feasible products will be crucial, therefore you will work closely with textile mills, printers, and suppliers. Detailed technical design sheets and specifications for production will need to be prepared and updated regularly as part of your responsibilities. Proficiency in CAD software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, NedGraphics, Procreate, or similar tools is essential for developing digital patterns and mock-ups. You will need to ensure that these digital designs are production-ready in terms of repeat patterns, colorways, and textures. Overseeing prototype development and making necessary adjustments based on fabric tests or visual evaluations will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will be responsible for approving lab dips, strike-offs, and production samples to maintain color accuracy and design fidelity.
