Test Engineer Lead

The role based in Kochi requires a candidate with 7+ years of experience to manage testing activities for multiple projects and provide guidance to the testing team in adhering to industry standard best practices and innovations. As the lead test engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of applications under test by defining test strategies that enhance product quality through practices like early testing and continuous testing. Your role will involve test planning, team coordination, monitoring, and controlling testing activities. Collaboration with project managers and customers is essential for effective communication related to testing activities. You will work closely with the testing team to ensure timely testing of stories post-development completion, minimizing defects leaked to the test environment. Monitoring projects from a process and quality perspective, you will proactively alert project managers about deviations and risks. Your involvement in customer calls, requirement gathering, sprint planning, and grooming sessions will be crucial. Guiding and mentoring the testing team in implementing best practices across various testing areas such as System testing, Regression testing, Performance Testing, and Security Testing will be part of your responsibilities. Tracking team performance through quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing to documentation to showcase team capabilities in securing new opportunities are key aspects of the role. In terms of duties and responsibilities, you will define test strategies and approaches to meet project timelines while upholding quality standards. You will oversee test planning activities for each sprint, ensuring the team adheres to the defined test strategy. Reporting test progress, quality metrics, and keeping the project team informed about sprint progress will be part of your routine tasks. Encouraging collaboration among team members, conducting periodic reviews of testing processes, and implementing technical innovations to enhance engineering processes are essential for success in this role.
