Test Engineer - Automated Test Equipment

As a highly skilled Test Engineer specializing in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development for MTL and Crouse-Hinds series products at Eaton, your role will involve designing, developing, and implementing ATE systems. You will utilize your proficiency in VC++, LabVIEW, and Python for source code development and work with test measurement instruments using GPIB, USB, and Ethernet communication protocols. Your contributions will drive innovative testing solutions that ensure product excellence. You will collaborate with NPI, Engineering, and Quality assurance teams to define testing parameters, ensuring compliance with product requirements. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues to enhance test accuracy and system reliability will be a key responsibility. Additionally, you will analyze data, implement Kaizens for process improvement, and maintain functional metrics related to Preventive Maintenance adherence, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE. Your role will also involve defining and implementing test strategies, maintaining test equipment through regular calibration, and integrating test systems into production lines. You will identify opportunities to enhance automation in testing processes, focus on cost-effective test solutions, and provide training and support to production teams. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering - 10-12 years of experience in developing and maintaining Automated Test Equipment (ATE) & Process control Instruments Skills: - Expertise in VC++ and LabVIEW with hands-on source code development and debugging experience - Proficiency in working with test measurement instruments using GPIB, USB, and Ethernet protocols - Understanding of hardware systems and test integration methodologies - Knowledge of industrial automation, system-level testing protocols, and industrial safety standards - Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills Stay updated on emerging technologies and testing methodologies to enhance ATE capabilities and contribute to design improvements based on test results. Conduct risk assessments for new test setups, manage version control of test software repositories, and analyze test data for process optimization and decision-making.
