Job Description

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Marine, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Relevant certifications in Port Operations, Safety, or Management preferred.

  • minimum 10 to 20 years of experience in port or terminal operations.

  • Proven leadership experience in mid-sized or large port terminals.

 

Strategic Leadership

  •  Develop and implement organizational strategies that promote innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  •  Align terminal operations with long-term business and port development goals.

Operational Management

  •  Oversee day-to-day terminal operations to ensure optimal productivity, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
  •  Ensure uninterrupted operations across all functional areas.

Change & Transformation Leadership

  •  Lead change management initiatives to drive operational upgrades and strategic progress.
  •  Support modernization through improved systems, processes, and technologies.

Asset & Infrastructure Optimization

  •  Maximize utilization of terminal infrastructure, equipment, and assets.
  •  Ensure effective asset management and resource planning to reduce downtime.

Financial Governance

  •  Maintain strict budgetary control and cost discipline.
  •  Ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements.

Performance Monitoring & MIS

  •  Review MIS reports related to expenses, performance, productivity, and safety.
  •  Implement corrective and preventive actions where required.

Resource Efficiency

  •  Optimize allocation of manpower, machinery, and materials.
  •  Enhance operational capacity and terminal throughput.

Operational Excellence & Best Practices

  •  Integrate global best practices and SOPs into terminal operations.
  •  Continuously improve operational standards and service delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  •  Build and manage strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  •  Ensure collaboration, alignment, and compliance.

Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

  •  Ensure all terminal operations meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with statutory and port authorities.

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Uphold rigorous safety standards across all sites.
  •  Conduct proactive and reactive safety audits and inspections.
  •  Promote a strong safety culture.

Team Leadership & Development

  •  Foster a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
  •  Mentor and develop teams for performance and career growth.
