We primarily compete in four specific areas deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean. Lam Research India team is organized into three major areas of responsibility: Hardware, Software, and Operations. One of the major functional group of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). The LIGHT group, designs subassemblies and subsystems for Lam's product lines, providing innovation for the next-generation products, providing improvements in cost and reliabilityThere is an opening for the role of Technical Writer 1 within the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT organization. This position is responsible for collaborating with internal customers to work on Technical Publishing activities. This position will be based out of Bangalore and will closely be working with the Tech Publication group & Cross functional teams across global regions of Lam Research like US & Asia.CSBG mainly focuses on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle by providing Spares, Upgrades, and Services to maximize the value of customer capital assets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Creating and editing technical procedures and manuals for internal and external customer reference
- Collaborate with engineers and core writing staff to finalize procedures using Microsoft Word, ensuring content accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
- Create product manuals in Content Management System (CMS)
- Teamwork, exceptional organization skills, and attention to detail are essential
- Obtain data/draft from engineering sources, edit the information for accuracy and completeness, and incorporate it into procedures
- Taking handoff package from content engineering and completing a CMS integration per the aligned and committed deadlines (both internal and external)
- CMS DITA/XML editing, conversion, translation, and incorporating media to create a publication
- Attend and contribute to content team meetings and provide status and plan for future deliverables
Mandatory Skills And Experience Required To Perform The Job
- Proficiency with documentation tool such as Authoring tools, XML Editors. Experience with version control systems like Git or similar.
- Familiarity with markup languages such as HTML, XML, and Markdown.
- Knowledge of DITA (Drawin Information Typing Architecture) for Structured content authoring and management
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and single-source publishing.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of MS office tools
- Shows attention to detail and exhibits high quality standards in engineering documentation

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories On-site Flex and Virtual Flex.
