Role & responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the blood bank, including collection, testing, storage, and issue of blood and components.
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory guidelines (Drugs & Cosmetics Act, NABH/NABL/ISO standards).
Monitor quality control processes and maintain accurate documentation and records.
Train, guide, and evaluate technical staff to maintain high standards of performance.
Ensure proper functioning and calibration of equipment, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Liaise with clinicians, hospital departments, and external agencies to meet blood supply requirements.
Ensure compliance with infection control, biosafety, and transfusion safety protocols.
Support audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.

Preferred candidate profile

B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent.
Postgraduate Diploma in Transfusion Medicine (preferred, not mandatory).
Minimum 6
8 years of experience
in a licensed blood bank, with at least
1 year in a supervisory role
.
In-depth knowledge of transfusion medicine, blood component preparation, and regulatory requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
