As a hands-on leader, this role demands direct involvement in system design, architecture, and development, ensuring the seamless integration of emerging technologies and advanced analytics into logistics platforms. This role will oversee the engineering lifecycle of a diverse portfolio of software products, guiding them from conceptualization to execution. The Senior Engineering Manager will collaborate closely with business, product stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the alignment of product goals with business objectives and the efficient execution of the engineering process. Key Responsibilities Technology Leadership: Architect and oversee the development of scalable, cloud-based logistics platforms using modern frameworks and technologies. Lead the design and development of complex systems, focusing on microservices-based architectures, API development, and integration. Actively participate in hands-on coding, code reviews, and system design to ensure high-quality, maintainable code. Leverage Big Data, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize logistics processes such as route planning, demand forecasting, and real-time tracking. Integrate cloud-native technologies such as AWS (Lambda, EC2, DynamoDB, S3) for scalability, performance, and cost optimization. Platform Development: Design and build core logistics features, including real-time shipment tracking, automated hub operations, last-mile delivery optimization, and Transport Management System (TMS) integration. Lead the creation of data visualization dashboards and real-time analytics tools using technologies like ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). Optimize system performance and reliability through effective design and architecture decisions. Data and Security: Build data pipelines to ensure seamless integration and processing of large-scale logistics data, driving data-driven decisions. Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, especially with regards to personally identifiable information (PII). Implement advanced OCR and NLP tools (Google Tesseract, Amazon Textract) to automate document processing and improve operational efficiency. Agile & DevOps: Establish and manage Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for fast and reliable software delivery. Lead DevOps initiatives, focusing on system reliability, monitoring, and minimizing downtime. Promote Agile methodologies, leading Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog refinement to ensure smooth development cycles. Innovation & Research: Drive research and development efforts in emerging technologies such as edge computing and IoT for real-time logistics data processing. Evaluate new technologies and lead Proof of Concept (PoC) efforts to assess feasibility and impact on business objectives. Team and Stakeholder Management: Lead and mentor a team of full-stack developers, data engineers, and architects, promoting a culture of collaboration and high performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment with technical roadmaps and business goals. Manage end-to-end project delivery, including design, estimation, planning, tracking, testing, and production support. Required Qualifications: Education : B.E./B.Tech/Masters degree from a premier institute in Engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, Communication, or related field). Experience : 12- 16 years in software engineering, with at least 4-8 years in eCommerce, logistics, or supply chain-related SaaS platforms. Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in software development using NodeJS, Go, or Python, Java along with strong expertise in AWS. Proven experience in building scalable, distributed software products and infrastructure. Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, design patterns, and NoSQL databases. At least 4 years of experience managing software projects, including planning, delivery, and tracking. Demonstrated expertise in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, user story writing, and defining product backlogs. Experience leading large IT projects from end-to-end, including estimation, planning, development, testing, and production support. Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect), AI/ML ,Big Data (e.g., Cloudera), or DevOps tools. Hands-on experience with SaaS platforms and third-party logistics software integrations. Knowledge of emerging technologies such as IoT, edge computing, and blockchain in logistics.
